Job description

The Training & Development Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and facilitating training for the Letsema Group organization development programs. This role will also be responsible for the development and execution of leadership, soft skills and Management Consulting training.


Reports directly to the Training Officer in the required format as stipulated by SAICA


  • Passionate about learning and development, should be someone who will run with this topic independently and enjoys teaching
  • Consulting background and / or facilitated training programmes for Management Consultants
  • Develop processes and SOPs to embed best-practice approach and training execution
  • Sets in place appropriate performance and feedback systems in place
  • Develop an appropriate Letsema Training Academy programme
  • Co-ordinates and oversees internal and external training operations
  • Promotes a team-oriented environment through people development, strong leadership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional support
  • Develop, implement and administrate the training programmes required by Letsema for operational needs to meet business requirements
  • Administer the development of Letsema staff (including the CA training programme in the format and frequency required by SAICA)
  • Develop and administer the knowledge management requirements of Letsema (and use such information to evolve and enhance the training programmes)
  • Develop and monitor the company’s training budget to ensure that the best quality of training and development is provided within budget

Talent Development and Management

  • Develop and implement talent management strategies and programmes, systems and processes based on company needs and individual assessments
  • Communicate with Management on the talent management concept and talent review process
  • Lead the process of talent review to assess the management potential of key talents
  • Provides career guidance as well, where needed in conjunction with HR, will ensure Individual requirements (in terms of Development Plans, PDPs, Project Reviews, Team feedback, etc.) are all considered and ensures appropriate actions are taken and specialist courses/training on an individual level and per cohort level.
  • Lead succession planning and discussion for identified management positions, and design individual development plans together with scheduled regular feedback sharing meetings

Team Development and Team Engagement

  • Responsible for mentoring, coaching and training to develop team members
  • Be aware of the career and long-term ambitions and aspirations of team members
  • Maintain close communication with Development and Engagement Managers, HR Manager and team members to discuss training needs and to ensure that they are fully aware of training opportunities available
  • Oversee the development of effective processes for the evaluation of all training and development provided
  • Attend relevant training conferences and seminars
  • Assist team members with the development and co-ordination of personal development plans resulting in identified training needs
  • Ensure advance planning for internal and / external attendance at training

CA Training Programme (SAICA accredited)

  • Daily administration of the various operational processes of the CA training programme
  • Maintains required records, including portfolios of evidence, for all trainees in the programme
  • Report directly to the Training Officer in the required format as stipulated by SAICA

  • Post grad degree (with excellent academic track record)
  • Strategic thinker
  • Experience with administering and / interpreting psychometrics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Talent Management and / Management Consulting
    environment is preferred
